The Congregation of Moses relies on the generosity of its members and friends. Donors can derive great personal satisfaction from helping to support our various programs and services.

Please consider making a generous donation to one of our many funds in honor of a special occasion, an accomplishment, or to extend heartfelt condolences at the time of a loss. Making a contribution is a meaningful act to both the donor and recipient. Your donation will be acknowledged in the synagogue bulletin, unless otherwise desired.

Congregation of Moses currently has 18 different funds to which you can contribute. Bereavement Fund pays for the after-funeral meal of a deceased’s family in the event that there are no family or friends in Kalamazoo, or if the family is in need.

Ben & Miriam Brot Israel Pilgrimage Fund offsets expenses of a USY member going to Israel.

Building Fund pays for major building repairs and maintenance.

Cemetery Fund pays for the maintenance of the Jewish Riverside Cemetery. When needed, money will be used to purchase additional property.

Herman & Rose Fisher Library Fund pays for adult and children’s books, DVDs, CDs and other media as well as newspaper and magazine subscriptions for the Congregation of Moses Library.

Mort and Joyce Fisher Kitchen/Oneg/Kiddush Fund was established by the Fisher family in memory of Mort and Joyce. The fund provides for general needs and upkeep of equipment, utensils, cleaning and other needs of the kitchen as determined by the Kitchen Committee as well as basic needs for regular Friday night Onegs (not special events).  Also pays for Saturday morning Kiddush needs.

General Fund pays for the general expenses of the synagogue; i.e. salaries, snow removal, utilities, postage, etc.

Goldstein Education Fund offsets costs of Torah Weekend.

Bryna Graff Religious School Fund allows principal(s) to attend Coalition for the Advancement of Jewish Education convention.

Ben & Cherie Gubin Education Fund offsets the Religious School education needs.

Honor & Memorial Fund pays for Bar/Bat Mitzvah Chumashim, 3rd grade graduation siddurim, and flowers for various occasions.

Andrew Levene Scholarship Fund perpetuating the memory of Andrew Levene, this scholarship is awarded annually to a well-rounded CoM High School student who has demonstrated unselfish involvement in the Jewish and/or secular communities, exhibits good scholarship and good sportsmanship. It is to be used for higher education or an enrichment experience.

Levene Cantor Fund offsets cost of High Holiday Cantorial expenses and the Rosh Hashanah Oneg.

Marvin & Rosalie Okun Religious School Fund offsets Religious School expenses.

Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund provides cash for needy people, supports worthy organizations (for example, seder supplies for Jewish prisoners, I.S.A.A.C., local charities), pays for small, unbudgeted expenses (for example, Jewish books for a foreign student, piano tuner for Sacred Music Festival).

Jerrold Raffel Scholarship Fund perpetuating the memory of Jerrold Raffel, this scholarship will be awarded to a CoM student who is attending an accredited higher learning institution; and majoring in business, communications, or the arts.

Schupan USY Fund offsets costs to send USY members to Camp CRUSY and out-of-town conventions.

Harry and Lillian Sofen Learning Center pays for maintenance of the Sofen Wing.
